Somm Wine Store Supports wine appreciation including mindful and responsible consumption of better wine. It aims to connect its customers with special small producers who grow and make wine with respect to the process, community and planet.

Somm Wine Store complies with all of the regulations and laws related to the sale of alcohol according to the Liquor Act 1992 and Wine Industry Act 1994 as governed by the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) in Queensland and mandated by the Australian Federal Government. Employees of SOMM Wine Store are required to hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol ( RSA) Certificate with which to work instore.

As well as an RSA Certificate, Somm Wine Store employees receive induction training with covers the responsible sale of alcohol. In addition, many employees hold certifications such as Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and / or Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) which include this discussion. Both the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate as well as SOMM Wine Store’s company training stipulate that employees must ask for proof of age when in doubt of a customers age as they may be under the legal drinking age of 18.
